The Independent Learning Centre (ILC) provides a helpful and caring environment for students to Immerse themselves in Language and Culture in order to enhance their English proficiency. Using Innovative Language Concepts, the ILC facilitates learners’ language improvement
by showing them how to plan their work and work their plan.
The objectives of ILC are: |

To provide a resourceful and relaxing environment
for students to help them improve their language skills.

To conduct various innovative language workshops to
motivate and sensitize students to the learning of English, Putonghua and Cantonese. |

To make available a great variety of multimedia language
learning materials and help students to select appropriate materials for effective independent learning. |
4. |
To provide a favourable environment for students to immerse themselves in language and culture through activities such as Speaking and Group Discussions |
5. |
To run small group language counselling sessions, and to monitor the effectiveness of student learning regularly.

To encourage exchanges and discussions on language issues through activities such as online forums. |
7. |
To collaborate with different departments/units to run language enhancement activities for students and staff.
